Matjaž, the main beekeeper, keeps all the bees healthy and in good shape. This is the only way to get honey and, of course, bee venom.
My little Vesna - thanks to Matjaž's love for bees, I got the home-based job I always dreamed of. In the last few years I have been leaving beekeeping to Matjaž, and I have been working with Bee Tox cosmetics. And our two children, Lan and Ziva. Of course, they are great helpers and inspiration for everything we do and create.
Matjaž started beekeeping about 15 years ago. He had no previous experience, and no one in the family was involved in beekeeping. Fortunately, his now deceased neighbour Ivan, an old beekeeper and mentor, introduced him to the world of bees and gave him his first three bee colonies.
Through years of ups and downs, today he can proudly show 2 stationary apiaries, which he made himself, and about 100 hives of bee colonies, for which he made all the hives himself. A lot of effort, money and free time have been invested.
Beekeeping is now well established, but the biggest challenges are still bad weather and bee diseases.
With this number of bee colonies, our beekeeping is responsible for pollinating countless fruit trees, woods, flowers... a very large pollination service that benefits nature and people.
